Why Everyone Should Have a Synchrotron Light Source and What Does Dolly Parton Have to Do With All This?

Dr. Michael Steinitz (Physics)

October 21, 2026
11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Mulroney Hall 4023

The Mulroney Institute will be hosting a Lunch & Learn with Professor Emeritus Dr. Michael Steinitz (Physics). Dr. Steinitz will be discussing why synchrotron sources of x-rays are just as important to lay people as they are to physicists and biologists. He will share his experience in the international effort to build an African Light Source, which connects to his work on Commission 13 (Physics for Developing Countries) of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics.

Please join us for light refreshment and conversation.

All are welcome.
